Books Etc was established nearly 50 years ago as a
street stall in Central Port Elizabeth. The idea was
to sell books that were donated by members of the
public with the proceeds going to The Children’s Feeding
Trust (formerly the Port Elizabeth School Feeding
Scheme).
The shop is now based in the Walmer Town
Hall and is manned entirely by around 60 volunteers,
some of whom have helped us since its inception. The
shop is open on Mondays to Fridays from 10h00 – 16h00
and on Saturdays from 09h00 to 12h00 and the duty
roster of volunteers is managed by the office staff
of the Children’s Feeding Trust.
A committee, all
volunteers, gets together once a week to sort and
price the incoming stock and the committee meets on
a monthly basis.
Our reputation as a welcoming, relaxed
and friendly haven for lovers of books and book browsers
has grown and we enjoy wide support. Please visit

This website
was established to sell some of the more valuable
books donated to us and so increase
the funds available for distribution to the charities
we support.
